Building Canvas
2006-2019
I lived in the Catskills for 3 years lifting barn beams in construction sites and walking in woods. While I was there, I stretched canvases around construction materials, creating oddly shaped canvases which I left in the priming stages, each ready to display an unmade painting. Ultimately I used parts from a deconstructed barn to create a hut at the NADA country art fair, stretching a canvas as the ceiling. This hut itself became the support on which to display other work.
