Repetition and reproduction work against themselves. I made 24 ship paintings using exactly the same amount of gestures and compositional structure. the only thing that changed was the pigment and the time of day that the colors came from based off of a 24 hour meditation I did in Mexico on the Caribbean Sea. Over ten years later I took 2788 photos of the sun from rise to set at the same location, those are shown in the larger works in the snapshot project.
